Jefferson Elementary School

We had a special visit from the Kellogg Middle School Music Department! Our fifth graders learned about the different music options they can choose in middle school and got to see and hear the instruments up close. 🎺🎻🥁 What an exciting step as they get ready for the next chapter of their music journey—we can’t wait to see which instruments they choose! 💙🎼

Last week, our first graders were thrilled to welcome a professional storyteller (and proud Jefferson alum!) Patti Christensen from California. 📚🎭
She kept students on the edge of their seats with her dramatic storytelling and explained how books move from big ideas to publication. Our young listeners were inspired, entertained, and smiling from ear to ear! 💙📖

We had a special visitor today! 🎶😊 Mr. Muschler stopped by to sing with our Kindergarteners, and the smiles said it all. Thank you for sharing your talent and bringing so much joy to our littlest learners!

Nothing says success like pizza with the principal! 🍕🎉 Our students earned this reward through respect, responsibility, and being safe. Way to represent our school!

Before we officially begin winter break, we want to take a moment to celebrate the amazing students we have at RPS! During their annual fundraising competitions, our high school students raised a combined $123,077.95 for local organizations! Thank you, students, for all your hard work and effort to invest back into our community.

Our students enjoyed great conversations, big smiles, laughs, and a few extra slices during today’s Pizza with the Principals! We love celebrating students who are respectful, safe, and responsible. Keep up the amazing work, Jaguars ! #PizzaWithThePrincipals #StudentLeaders #WeAreJefferson

A big thank-you to the Rochester Fire Department for teaching our Jefferson Elementary second graders all about fire safety! 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒 The students loved learning how firefighters help keep us safe. ❤️ #FireSafety #RochesterFD #JeffersonElementary

🦉 Science Fun in Ms. Sherman’s Class! 🦉 Our young scientists had an exciting hands-on lesson this week as they dissected owl pellets! Students carefully examined the pellets to discover what owls eat and learned about food chains and animal habitats. It was a fun (and fascinating!) way to explore the wonders of nature. Great job, explorers! 🌿🔍

🌿 Exciting news from Jefferson Elementary! 🌟
Thanks to some incredible and generous donations, our students will soon be learning in a brand-new outdoor classroom! 🏫🌳 Today, our staff got a sneak peek and some inspiring ideas on how to bring learning to life outside the four walls of the classroom. After years of dedication, kindness, and tireless support, our beloved Office Manager, Stephanie , is retiring.  She has been the heart of our front office — greeting every child with a warm smile, supporting staff with grace and patience, and keeping our school running like a well-oiled machine. Her compassion, laughter, and steady presence have touched every corner of our school community. From scraped knees to lost lunchboxes, early morning calls to late-day paperwork, she’s done it all with love.  We will miss her more than words can say, but we are so happy she’s getting the chance to enjoy this next chapter.  Once a Jaguar , always a Jaguar.    #Retirement #SchoolFamily #YouWillBeMissed
